Since their disbanding of Jack Ü in 2016, Skrillex and Diplo have gone their own way, remaining successful and in the EDM spotlight. But now it seems that they are still producing together, with Skrillex being credited as a writer on Diplo's recent release "Get it Right".
So it's no secret that their massive success in 2015/16 was shortlived but justified. The tracks they would put out were bangers, leading EDM from the front and showing not only how to put a successful track together but also how to get them out to an audience on the big stage. Their tours fronted by Skrillex were epic, and together they were an unstoppable force.
But in 2016, much to the disappointment of EDM fans worldwide, they mysteriously split, saying they wouldn't be working together under the name Jack Ü. But now it seems they have been sneakily working together, with Skrill on the writing credits for "Get it Right". We're not sure how much input he had, maybe Diplo just used some material he and Skrillex created back in the Jack Ü days, but it does give us a glimmer of hope that more material is on the way.
On their split, Diplo explained it was nothing personal, saying:
“The thing with Jack Ü is complicated because of Atlantic. Skrillex is signed to that label and it’s difficult to do anything with that. I hate major labels, so I don’t really want to do anything with major labels. So it’s hard.”
